What does SWAN offer?

As one of the most significant single public sector ICT initiatives undertaken in Scotland, the Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN) aims to support the digital transformation of public bodies across Scotland, whilst providing services for those just starting that journey, and providing all staff with secure and resilient access to digital services.

SWAN is assisting organisations ranging from the Scottish Government to every Health Board, many Councils and Education bodies to transform their digital connectivity. Join over 90 organisations evolving their services with SWAN.

With over 6,000 connected sites, including schools, hospitals, GP surgeries, pharmacists and local council offices, connecting via SWAN results in reduced costs, improved service, and the ability to share data across organisations, encouraging co-operative working.

SWAN Innovation Fund

The key to innovation is co-creation, and SWAN Members can access investment funding and expertise during the lifetime of the Framework to develop innovative solutions for their service users. Whether it be an idea for extending the use of Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, a pilot for collating data across a network for onward analysis and decision making, a technology that can improve the patient experience in Health, or optimisation of a process to deliver services to local residents, Members can submit their ideas to the SWAN Innovation forum for consideration.  With a track record of innovation, our partner BT will work together with you to develop the idea into reality.
